After a week in the Dolomites, I can safely say this was far and away my best meal. So worth the long hike up to Alpe di Siusi from our hotel!
Service was very warm & friendly. But most importantly- the food:
The hay soup was unlike anything I’ve tasted before (in the best possible way), and the selection of local cheeses were to die for.
Also excellent were the Tyrolian dumplings and the pasta stuffed with nettle & pear.
The apple struedel was so good we ordered two more after the first arrived…
If you’re trying to decide on a hut to stop at for lunch while exploring Alpe di Siusi- Gostner Schwaige should be top of your list!
We had a delicious lunch here. It was foggy so we wanted to dine inside. We got to sit in the small cabin, so cute. Service was speedy and friendly. The rosenspritz was so good. Light and refreshing. The charcuterie plate was delicious. The meats had a nice smoky flavor. I loved the honey and horseradish served with the cheese. The ravioli with cheese made in house was so tasty. Overall a cute place with a wonderful lunch.
Gourmet food in the mountains! A tiny little refugio in the Dolomites. Inside sits maybe 20, outside lots more. In the cold rain the inside is very cozy! The ossobucco was very well prepared with a wine reduction served with polenta and cabbage. We also had the risotto with wild mushrooms. Both were delicious and complemented each other well.
Last year we spent the new year eve here and we had a great dinner.
We came back again to try their “a la carte” menu.
They don’t have the common dishes and everything is good.
They also have barbecue.
Don’t miss the kaiserschmarren!!
Excellent place. Food is outstanding in quality and taste. Service is very good. Staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is local and inviting. Best tartar I've had in years! Venison with mushrooms and vegetables was exquisite.
Everything was amazing from the beginning. Service was outstanding, and the staff were very patient and helpful with my terrible German speaking abilities. The food was freshly prepared, and presentation was excellent. And of course, so much flavor in the food. Such a great experience. Will be coming back again many times.
Fantastic food straight from the grill, and what a location! Super friendly waiting staff too. Also enjoyed the beer mugs - very authentic!
Very original food with flowers and local ingredients. Really excellent flavours. They also have “the classics” but I recommend their specialties. The hay soup is highly recommended. Not cheap but worth the experience.
